Today, the mobile industry has taken off in so many directions it’s pretty difficult to keep up with. a few years we barely had the introduction of smartphones in the tech world, today we’ve got tables and e-readers. For those who spend a fair chunk of their time travelling, or for those who have a lot of free time, an e-reader can be the perfect companion for you.

It gives you the ability to read literally thousands of e-books, which are digital prints of books both new and old. You’ll find that the vast majority of e-readers such as an Amazon Kindle come with a fine selection of books to pick from via a specific store. This lets you pick from thousands of books that have been made digital.

With that in mind, what type of e-reader should you be going for? There are several brands and styles to pick from, but we’ve devised a list of the finest options out there for you. This means that you should be able to find an easy to use e-reader, for a good price, and with a fine selection of books to pick from via the marketplace that is provided for you.

Nook Simple Touch GlowLight

Are you looking for an e-reader that comes with a glowlight built-in and not as an expensive accessory? Then this offering from Nook might be up your alley. This is very popular with a majority of users because it’s only roughly $50 at the moment giving you an incredible piece of value if you want to pick up an e-reader for not a huge amount of output on your part. It comes with a reading light and gives you a whole 6” of screen with anti-glare capacity to help keep your eyes nice and stimulated when reading.

Additionally, it’s got a pretty epic book store with over three million books to pick from. Whatever you are looking for, you should be able to find something in their user friendly and simple store. It might not come with the usual artillery that you might expect from your typical Amazon Kindle, for example, but it’s got plenty of redeeming features not to mention the price.

With expandable storage also a possibility, you can keep a pretty massive library of books on this e-reader at any one time. If you are looking for supreme value, this is for you.

Amazon Kindle Paperweight

This much loved little e-reader is one of the most popular on the market, and has superseded the original Kindle as the go-to choice for many who are looking for a cracking deal. It’s available for around $110 at the moment, and gives you a fairly epic choice of books to pick from via the Kindle Store. However, best of all is the awesome design and functionality – there’s arguably not an easier e-reader out there to use at the moment.

It deflects glare from the sunlight and it comes with a higher level of resolution in the screen as well, meaning that you get less distractions and a crisper quality of text to read with. This makes your life so much easier than other tablets out there for the same price. Best of all, you know that you are buying from the top of the range – the Kindle range is easiest the brand out there.

The only dispute is, outside of the normal Kindle (and now this) it’s been hard to get great value for the price. With this, though, you can get easy reading at your leisure with a battery that can last a long time.

Kobo Aura H2O

Spend a lot of time at the bus stop and dealing with a dripping wet newspaper? Scared that you’ll find your e-reader becoming damaged by the water as you read? Well, this is your only choice to avoid this problem. To our knowledge, it’s the sole reader out there that’s got total waterproofing. The only issue is that you’ll need to pay for it – it’s roughly $140 which is a fair chunk for the price. It’s read in the dark light is obviously very useful, but it’s got everything else pretty much bang on.

Not everyone is a huge fan of the Kobo brand but we’ve always been impressed by their work – the H2O definitely gets more sales because of the waterproofing, though. It’s a strong choice for those who want to get away from the Kindle union that dominates the market and try out something new.

Just be aware that the Kobo store is still very powerful – if you are considering the Kindle due to the wealth of the option available to you in terms of reading material, the Kobo provides a strong level of opposition to the Amazon Kindle store, giving you plenty of options.
